Learn Old School Rock Piano With a Familiar Chord Pattern
Improve your hand coordination, practice every single triad around the Circle of Fifths, and learn many scales - Mixolydian, Mixo b6, Minor & Dorian. First off, we look at a steady rock piano groove for the left hand with my "trampoline" method for faster, strain-free playing. After learning a popular "old-school" rock pattern used by artists such as Elton John & Deep Purple in the right hand, we practice two triads separated by the plagal cadence. To make the exercise interesting, we journey through both directions of the circle of fifths as well as the whole tone scale. 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 00:00 - Performance 00:32 - About the Lesson 02:18 - Left Hand Bass pattern 02:42 - Static Synth pattern 03:17 - Body Parts Involved while playing Piano 04:21 - The “Trampoline” Motion 08:38 - Accenting the Drums 10:22 - Accenting on the & hits 11:01 - Triads in the RH 12:21 - Starting with Semibreves in the RH 14:27 - What is the Plagal Cadence? 15:05 - Passing Chord 17:49 - Exploring the Music Theory 19:00 - Rhythmic pattern with Mixolydian b6 20:00 - What if all this was Natural Minor? 20:25 - Dorian Mode 21:56 - Whole Tone drop 24:16 - Circle of 5ths Clockwise 25:35 - Circle of 5ths Counter-Clockwise 27:02 - Recap of the Bass line 28:31 - The Eventual Goal 30:20 - Conclusion ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎵 Music Theory lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory 🎹 All our lessons on Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC 👂 Ear Training lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/EarTraining ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 +91 77604 56847 (Mobile & WhatsApp) 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #RockPiano #PlagalCadence #CircleOfFifths
