Country Piano Walk-Ups & Walk-Downs: Stepwise Fills With Grace & Ghost Notes
Country piano comes alive in the connections between chords — learn stepwise walk-ups and walk-downs through the I–IV–V, dressed up with grace notes and ghost notes. Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music teaches a country piano exercise that moves into each of the I–IV–V chords with passing harmonic movement, all in a traditional Waltz (3/4) meter on Bb major. You'll build a left-hand walking bass, harmonise with thirds in the right hand, stack roots and fifths, add off-beat rhythm, and spice things up with grace notes and ghost notes — then apply it to tunes like Amazing Grace and Twinkle Twinkle. ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Performance 00:14 Introduction 00:47 Traditional Chords to Country 02:12 Bb Major 02:52 The Chord Progression 03:43 Counting Waltz 3/4 with Eighth Notes 05:05 Left-Hand Walking Bass 07:39 Right Hand Chords with Bass Line 08:11 Harmonizing with Thirds in Right Hand 11:12 Stacking Root and Fifth 14:06 Off Beat Rhythm in Left Hand 17:12 Amazing Grace variation 17:56 Twinkle Twinkle 18:07 Happy Birthday 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🤠 'Old School' Country Rhythm Essentials ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg2mvAcIyBg 🔄 Inversion Practice ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M4R6en-eRw 🥁 Rhythm Concepts & Patterns (Playlist) ➡️ https://geni.us/RhythmChops ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #CountryPiano #PianoWalkUps #PianoFills
