Billy Joel

Learn every section of the A cappella classic "The Longest Time" by Billy Joel as a Solo Piano Arrangement by Jason Zac. There are 4 parts along with an improvised performance for each piece of music. To keep things interesting, we learn different left hand patterns with arpeggios and broken chords and try to replicate every single element the song has to offer with respect to the A cappella rendition. This song features Billy Joel on lead vocals and all backing vocals. Two musical instruments are present in the song: a bass guitar and a snare drum being played with brushes. 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 00:00 Introduction 00:50 Lesson Breakdown (What you will learn) 03:52 Essential Music Theory (Scale & Chords) 04:45 The very beginning 09:01 B section with Arpeggios 15:28 C section with Spread Voicing of Triads 19:13 D section (Bridge) with Acapella section 24:13 Jason’s Improvised Sections 25:51 Improv over the B section 29:18 Improv over the C section 31:16 Outro 35:00 Revision of the Improv 36:49 Conclusion ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎹 All our lessons on Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC 🥁 All our lessons on Rhythm (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT85tF6cGvZK6jc5u6yZg5uU 🎵 Music Theory lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #TheLongestTime #BillyJoel #PianoTutorial
