Piano Ballad Accompaniment: Passing Bass Notes Between Chords (Smooth Left Hand)
In the final chapter of our 3-part series, we learn how you can embellish a chord progression with passing bass notes between the chords, building a walking bass line in the left hand. In this 3-part series, we learn a variety of methods to play ballad-style piano accompaniment. The right hand uses predominantly 3 patterns (block chords, broken chords and arpeggios) while the left hand develops root-octave combo patterns, ghost notes and a walking bass line. 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 00:00 - Performance 00:37 - Introduction to part 3 02:03 - Intro to walking bass line 02:45 - How chords are played by different instruments 05:53 - Pattern of Walking bass 𝄢 07:44 - Improvising the same pattern using 5ths 08:03 - Advanced pattern 09:37 - Recap 09:57 - 8th note ghosts 11:03 - Walking Bass in different Scales 12:19 - Conclusion ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎵 Music Theory lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory 🎹 All our lessons on Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC 👂 Ear Training lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/EarTraining ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #PianoAccompaniment #WalkingBass #BalladPiano Continue this lesson series Part 1: ballad chords, broken chords and arpeggios — https://youtu.be/XTxBoGf7LP0 Part 2: ballad ghost notes and subdivisions — https://youtu.be/Jl4BmotXk3M
