Harmonic Ear Training: The Fastest Way to Hear Any Chord
The fastest way to hear chords by ear — a harmonic ear-training method that combines smart theory with clever listening to identify a whole progression. Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music teaches you to go straight to the bass and listen for the most important part of each chord, then work through I–IV–V, climbing bass lines and Circle of Fifths exercises. From there you'll train ii–V–I and minor ii7b5–V7b9–i movements, sophisticated 2-5-1s, and even the tricky diminished and augmented chord families — building an ear that can decode real progressions. ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Performance 00:23 Introduction 01:35 Straight to the Bass 03:32 Setting up the EQ (Tech) 06:05 I - IV - V 08:57 Linear Singing 11:00 Bass Skips 11:41 Climbing Bass Lines 14:48 Circle of Fifths exercises 18:11 ii - V - I movement 20:24 Minor ii7b5 - V7b9 - i 21:28 Sophisticated 2-5-1 23:20 Importance of Listening 24:39 Weird - Dim7 Minor Chords 26:31 Weird - Augmented Family - Major Chords 27:42 Conclusion 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 👂 All our Ear Training Lessons ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT-GHvpugWvYgEuLAL4f01ZK 👂 Ear Training ➡️ https://geni.us/EarTraining 🎼 Music Theory ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #HarmonicEarTraining #EarTraining #PianoChords
