Creative Odd-Meter Piano Practice: A 5-Finger Exercise in 7/8
In this lesson, Jason Zac teaches a useful 5 finger exercise using the notes A, B, C, D & E in 4/4 meter and then moves to practise odd time with numerous variations. The tutorial has 3 parts which cover different aspects of music practice, including melodic and rhythmic patterns. Jason covers the following in this detailed tutorial: taking a 4/4 common time exercise and making it "odd" by using sub beats, exploring all the rhythmic phrases which can be built out of a 7/8 meter keeping the note pattern A B C D E D C B intact, and developing new melodic patterns by displacing the starting note of the bar while retaining the melodic movement. After this, we explore other "odd" time signatures like 7/8 and 5/8 with sub beat variations using the same ordering of notes. 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎵 Music Theory lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory 🎹 All our lessons on Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC 👂 Ear Training lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/EarTraining ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #OddMeterPiano #FiveFingerExercise #PianoExercise
