9 Chord Patterns Over a 7/4 Melody: A Piano Hand Independence Workout
Want serious hand independence at the piano? In this exercise you'll layer 9 different chord patterns under a melody in 7/4, so each hand learns to hold its own line. Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music walks you through a hand-independence exercise built around a melody in 7/4 time, supported by nine different chord patterns underneath it. The odd meter forces you to really feel the pulse while your two hands do separate jobs. You'll work through each chord pattern step by step, keeping the melody steady on top while the accompaniment changes shape beneath it. It's a practical way to build coordination, internalise an unusual time signature, and add richer harmony to your playing. By the end you'll have a repeatable workout you can slow down, speed up and reuse to strengthen the independence of your left and right hands. 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎵 Music Theory lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory 🎹 All our lessons on Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC 👂 Ear Training lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/EarTraining ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #HandIndependence #OddMeter #PianoExercises
