Piano Hand Independence Workout Using the Bossa Clave (Dance Groove)
Build serious left-and-right-hand independence on piano with a dance (EDM-style) groove built on the Bossa Nova clave. Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music gives you a set of exercises over a Bm–D–F#m–E progression. The idea is to hold the Afro-Cuban 'bossa clave' in one hand while keeping a steady pulse in the other — then bring them together to really challenge your independence. You'll play the pulse, root octaves, toggles and arpeggios in the left hand against the clave in the right, add spread voicing, and then flip the roles of both hands entirely. ⏱️ Chapters 01:21 The Chord Progression Explained - Bm D F#m E 02:44 Building Independence with the “body”, “voice” and a simple hand ratio 1:4 04:57 “Bossa Clave” 1/16th note Pattern (Pop Clave) with Pulse 08:42 Left-Hand plays Pulse with Root Octave together, “Toggle” & Arpeggios 14:05 Spread Voicing in the left hand 15:16 Flipping the role of both hands - RH Pulse & LH “Bossa Clave” 18:18 Summary & Revision 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 💪🏽 Hand Independence (Playlist) ➡️ https://geni.us/HandIndependence 🥁 Rhythm Concepts & Patterns (Playlist) ➡️ https://geni.us/RhythmChops 🔄 Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #HandIndependence #BossaClave #PianoRhythm
