Piano Hand Independence With Sixteenth Notes: Syncopation Workout (Part 5)

Develop hand independence for piano with sixteenth-note exercises, building syncopation between the two hands. Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music uses a sixteenth-note time feel to develop syncopation between your hands, a technique very similar to percussion instruments like the bongos or tabla, where each hand plays its own unique 1/16th-note pattern. You will revisit how to feel sixteenth notes, approach the parts like a percussionist, form the four chords and their inversions, plan left-hand octaves and fifths, then put both hands together, finishing with a super slow version. 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎵 Music Theory lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory 🎹 All our lessons on Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC 👂 Ear Training lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/EarTraining ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #HandIndependence #SixteenthNotes #PianoExercises Chapters 00:00 Distribute sixteenth notes between both hands 02:15 The interlocking rhythmic approach 03:52 Practise the rhythm on the body 04:42 Imagine a conversation between the hands 06:24 The six-four-one-five chord progression 07:34 Right-hand chord inversions and colour 09:38 Two beats per chord 10:02 B diminished-seventh turnaround 11:38 Left-hand octave and fifth positions 13:48 Start with bass on beats one and three 14:38 Right-hand rhythm pattern 16:17 Add the diminished turnaround to the pattern 16:47 Left-hand four-note phrase 17:49 Change the bass with the chords 18:30 Pedal and steady right-hand pulse 19:22 Combine the interlocking patterns 21:44 Recap both hands 23:12 Slow full exercise
