Improvise Over ONE Chord Using One Rhythm Pattern (Piano, Part 2)
Learn how to improvise over a major triad using a single constant rhythm pattern on the piano. In this 5-part series Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music shows you how to improvise over a static major chord (Bb major) using a steady rhythm pattern practised around 105-115 bpm, demonstrated on piano and trumpet but intended for all musicians. Part 2 focuses on the major pentatonic and Mixolydian scales over the static chord, building creative melodic phrasing with chord tones, embellishments, dynamics and articulation. 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎵 Music Theory lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory 🎹 All our lessons on Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC 👂 Ear Training lessons ➡️ https://geni.us/EarTraining ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #OneChordImprovisation #PianoImprovisation #RhythmPatterns Chapters 00:00 Improvise over one chord with the same rhythm 00:52 The major-pentatonic scale 01:36 Build a melody from the rhythm pattern 02:15 Practise the melody in smaller phrases 02:47 Another major-pentatonic melody 03:20 The Mixolydian scale 04:12 Apply the rhythm to Mixolydian 04:47 Another Mixolydian melody and trumpet demonstration
