3 Piano Rhythm Techniques That Make Your Chords Groove
Play the 3–3–2 piano rhythm three ways: single chord hits, accented eighth notes and arpeggios. Jason Zac uses Gm–E-flat–B-flat–F to practise counting, inversions and left-hand coordination. In this lesson Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music takes one chord progression (vi–IV–I–V) and brings it to life three ways: flowing arpeggios, punchy accents, and full block chords, with separate left- and right-hand variations. Jason uses short examples from songs including Shape of You, Cheap Thrills and Clocks to illustrate the rhythm. Practise the pattern slowly, then vary the chord articulation, dynamics and arpeggio starting note. 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎼 Music Theory ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory 🎹 Arpeggios ➡️ https://geni.us/Arpeggios 🤚 Hand Independence ➡️ https://geni.us/HandIndependence ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 +91 77604 56847 (Mobile & WhatsApp) 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #PianoRhythm #Tresillo #PianoAccompaniment Chapters 00:00 Three approaches to the 3–3–2 piano rhythm 00:58 Count the eighth-note grouping 02:51 Three ways to use the pattern 03:12 Clap and count the accents 04:08 Keep a steady left-hand pulse 05:50 The Gm–E-flat–B-flat–F progression 07:03 Single chord hits 08:11 Develop the two-hand pulse 11:24 Staccato, legato and dynamics 14:04 Accented eighth-note chords 15:50 Left hand: copy the accents or keep the pulse 17:10 Song examples using the accent pattern 19:10 Arpeggios with 3–3–2 accents 20:32 Start from a different chord note 21:03 Add the left hand to the arpeggio 22:17 Clocks example 23:26 Try 3–2–3 and 2–3–3 groupings
