The Floating Fifth Chord: Emotional Solo Piano Harmony With Minimal Movement
Create rich, emotional solo piano harmony from almost nothing — learn the 'floating fifth' technique that changes chord colours with the smallest left-hand moves. Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music teaches a solo-piano accompaniment built on the fifth chord with a strong rhythmic foundation, then improvises a 'floating' left-hand technique to create emotional harmony with minimal movement. You'll start the fifth chord with an off-beat eighth-note rhythm, change the bottom note to shift the chord quality, change the top note to create movement, and play a full two-part melody over the left-hand accompaniment. ⏱️ Chapters 02:22 Start with the 5th chord with an off-beat 1/8th note rhythm 06:32 Change the bottom note (Chord quality changes) 15:29 Change the top note (Chord Movement) 17:26 Slow version of the composition 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎼 Music Theory Lessons (Playlist) ➡️ https://geni.us/PianoTheory 🔄 Chord Inversions (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT9ygtrGwGFmfyvMyGWH52EC 🎶 All our Arpeggio Lessons (Playlist) ➡️ https://geni.us/Arpeggios ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #FloatingFifth #PianoHarmony #SoloPiano
