Piano Ballad Accompaniment: Block Chords, Broken Chords & Arpeggios (Creep Progression)
Learn to accompany almost any ballad on piano using block chords, broken chords and arpeggios over a Radiohead 'Creep'-inspired progression. Jason Zac from Nathaniel School of Music teaches the progression on three keys - G, F and D major - and shows how chord inversions and extended harmony keep the changes smooth. The right hand develops three core patterns (block chords, broken chords and arpeggios) while the left hand builds root-octave combos, ghost notes and a walking bass line. Part 1 of a 3-part accompaniment series. ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Performance 01:08 About the 3-Part Series 01:34 What is Accompaniment? 02:20 What both hands will be playing 03:03 The Chord Progression 03:54 Radiohead Creep Progression 04:19 Chord Progression on G Major 05:23 Using Chord Inversions 08:04 Extended Harmony 09:50 Transposed on F Major 11:02 Same Progression on D major 11:57 LH minims rhythm pattern 13:04 Toggle minims in LH 13:25 LH Toggling crochets 14:07 Toggling with 8th notes in LH 14:26 Toggle in LH 17:36 RH Broken Chords Pattern 18:06 Same RH Pattern with different LH Pattern 19:12 Arpeggiate RH 20:30 Recap of the whole lesson 22:36 Preparing for Part 2 22:53 Conclusion 🏫 Courses, Workshops or Private lessons ➡️ https://forms.gle/fsbhFKSgJbZ5xZEr8 ============================= 📹 Our Video Courses (Everything for Life Bundle) ➡️ https://learn-music.nathanielschool.com/ 🎹 Piano Courses & Private Lessons ➡️ https://piano.nathanielschool.com ============================= ▶️ Related Lessons & Playlists 🎹 Accompaniment Tutorials (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT_zdfpeK-q61q6qLtqdXLMk 🙌🏽 Hand Independence (Playlist) ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrNNL05e9FT-On4vodpAoZqTlWDCS5jv7 🎼 Arpeggios reference ➡️ https://geni.us/Arpeggios ============================= 🎓 Learn Music with Nathaniel School of Music & Jason Zac ➡️ https://nathanielschool.com 📚 All our YouTube lessons (1000+) by skill level, topic & genre ➡️ https://learning-portal.nathanielschool.com ============================= 💰 Donate on PayPal ➡️ https://geni.us/DonatePayPal 📸 Instagram ➡️ https://instagram.com/jasonzac 📞 Call +91 98454 65411 · 💬 WhatsApp chat +91 77604 56847 📧 Customised & Private Classes ➡️ music@nathanielschool.com 🎧 Listen to Jason Zac Music ➡️ https://riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/ #PianoAccompaniment #BalladPiano #PianoArpeggios
