🎹 Broken Chords vs Arpeggios — Learn This Piano Pattern NOW!
Two foundational broken chord patterns to take your accompaniment beyond block chords. We work through a G major chord progression (G – C – Em – D – C/G – G) using second inversion voicings around middle C, shifting between chords with common tones and minimal hand movement. The two patterns are the 'Out-Two-In-One' (a steady, pumping feel) and the 'Out-In-Out-In' (faster tempos and swing feel). We also explore volume control, accenting different beats, triplet feel variations and adding an extra top note for a richer texture. In the left hand, go beyond simple root notes with octaves, toggling between root and fifth, passing bass notes and ghost notes. Plus tips on singing chord tones while accompanying yourself. For intermediate pianists, worship players and singer-songwriters.
